Bengaluru, Dec 11: This was for the third time that a WWE Superstars hosted the Saturday Night Live on NBC.

The other marquee superstars to host the prestigious show was the Rock and Hulk Hogan who were also considered the franchise players of the company. Back in those days, professional wrestling was not so mainstream culture, like it is now.

Cena got an advantage of WWE promoting his appearance throughout their TV programming. He delivered a power-packed performance on the show keeping his hosting record intact.

He further teased that Leslie Jones might be added to the Wrestlemania card at next year's April.

Cena, being the current franchise of the company continues to bring the brand more to the mainstream television by appearing on numerous TV Shows, movies and hosting award shows.

Earlier this year, he has hosted the prestigious ESPYs awards. These host roles are being considered tremendous honor in the USA.

The 15-time world champion is quite busy with his roles beyond WWE, as of late which already started the speculation that he might not be able to perform as a full-time in WWE, ever again.

This also puts his record-tying 16th WWE World title reign in jeopardy which is on hold for more than two years now. The much-anticipated match with the Undertaker is also on hold.

For now, He is scheduled to return to the WWE with a house show in Madison Square Garden on December 26th.
