Bengaluru, Sep 24: Triple H returned to WWE television three weeks ago on Monday Night Raw in the most shocking way possible.
He turned on his former protégé, Seth Rollins by costing him the Universal Championship. He almost handed the WWE Universal Championship to Kevin Owens and fans got overwhelmed with WWE’s bookings, that night.
Things did not go well with the fans afterwards for Raw, though due to random matches, jobber storylines, and a thinner roster.
Ratings have fallen down drastically with Owens as the champion on the show. The season start of football and the rival brand, Smackdown's upholding on the ratings have been the other reasons too.
Triple H has been the saver of these low times for WWE and this time too seems the same. Rumors suggest that the Game will return to the title scenario in the Clash of Champions PPV on Sunday.
From this point onwards, he will be making regular appearances to reclaim his position in Raw’s authority. He’s been gone for a while and a lot of changes occurred on the flagship show.
Triple H’s first duty will be to help Owens retaining the Universal Championship at the PPV. The beef between him and Seth Rollins will continue after his return, this will culminate a huge match between the two of them at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble or even at Wrestlemania 33.
It depends on WWE totally how they will decide to book the rivalry between Rollins and Triple H. This is the match which got cancelled at Wrestlemania 32 due to the knee injury of Rollins.
Plus, Triple H choosing Owens over Rollins was an instant hit. However, Owens pinning Rollins clean for the title will hurt Rollins’ status as the face of the brand. So, Triple H has to show up in a certain capacity to take the rivalry further with Rollins.
Triple H will also be involving to create a power struggle among Foley, Stephanie McMahon and himself. We have already seen tensions running high between Foley and Stephanie regarding her husband’s actions.
