Bengaluru, Nov 28: The team of Heath Slater and Rhyno had become the first ever tag team champions in the Smackdown brand.
As per the recent reports, their days of being the champions are numbered. The next time they will be defending the title will be on December 4th at the TLC PPV and it will end in a losing effort.
Ringsidenews.com reported that a brand new team will be getting the title ahead of the established tag team members.
The New Wyatt family i.e. the team of Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton will become the second tag team championship holders.
The creative has arranged a push for the bonafide heels on the brand and this is the reason that they suddenly interrupted the American Alpha after they won the number one contender’s match.
The title reign of Slater and Rhyno has become a joke as believed by many. They may be well over with the crowd but they were not able to put more prestige to the title as expected from them.
Both, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt have been established names in the WWE and will make the title relevant. So, American Alpha will have to wait for more to get their hands on the title.
Meanwhile, the WWE World title will be defended at the TLC PPV and no title change is expected. But, upon conclusion of that match between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles, a huge change is waiting.
The Undertaker is supposed to enter into the title scenario. The Royal Rumble PPV will see the Phenome squaring off against the Phenomenal One.
Not only that, he is supposed to be the winner in that bout, as per the belief. The planning to insert the Undertaker into the title picture is being nurtured around the WWE Creative.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed the same by saying that Royal Rumble 2017 is the most likely place to see the mega match between the Undertaker and AJ Styles. This will help WWE to sell out the 65,000 plus tickets. He further commented,
"There has been legit talk of doing A.J. Styles vs. Undertaker at Royal Rumble. We haven’t heard that it’s a done deal, but it is something talked about.
If Undertaker was to win, they could have Cena go for No. 16 against Undertaker at Mania, since Cena vs. Undertaker is a match never done before at Mania.
There may be a timing issue since Undertaker had recent hip surgery and is going through rehab right now."
