WWE Smackdown Live results and video highlights: September 20

By Raja

Birmingham, Sep 21: WWE Smackdown Live was hosted this week from the Legacy arena in Birmingham, Alabama which was headlined by a blockbuster main event of John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose.

Prior to the match, AJ Styles pointed out the fact that he has already beaten both his opponents then there's no point of getting the triple threat match at No Mercy PPV.

With that being said, both Ambrose and Cena was all fired up for the main event since tensions were running between them from last week.

They gave it all in the main event and pushed themselves to the limit. Cena connected with the AA and Ambrose with the Dirty Deeds but did not manage to get the pinfall. In the end, Ambrose ended the match with a quick roll up to Cena.

AJ Styles ran into the arena to hit Cena with a Phenomenal Forearm and Ambrose with a Pele Kick. Daniel Bryan showed up to announce that Ambrose will have his one-on-one rematch for the WWE World title at next week's Smackdown Live.

Ambrose then put down the champion by hitting the Dirty Deeds on him and thereby gaining strong momentum before heading into next week's show.

Prior to that, the show opened with a contract signing between Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss. These procedures never go well in WWE and it was no exception here, too.

In addition, we have got a tag team match between the team of Nikki Bella, Naomi, and Carmella, Natalya.

The match never took place since Nikki was targeted again by Carmella. The sneak attack took place outside the ring by the Princess of Staten Island as Nikki fell down beside the ring.

Also, in the show, The Miz retained his title by hair-spraying into Ziggler's face. The drama between Miz and Bryan will continue, further. Randy Orton picked up a win over Eric Rowan.

In the tag team division, The Usos defeated the returning American Alpha to become the new number one contender for the tag team title. Baron Corbin defeated Apollo Crews in a rematch from Backlash kick-off via the End of Days.
