After a monumental night that we have witnessed at WWE Backlash on last Sunday, expectations are running high with the blue brand for this week’s show. Smackdown has already beaten Raw in terms of ratings and they will certainly carry the momentum along.
The crowd and social media, as well as the critics from the pro-wrestling circuit, were pleased enough with all the creative decisions that WWE took for Backlash. As a result, we have got three new champions crowing at the night. We expect to see what’s next for the new champions starting from tonight’s show.
AJ Styles finally made it to the top of the food chain in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world after conquering it all. So, we will see a Phenomenal Era taking over the blue brand from tonight. Ambrose will surely look to strike back after he was robbed of his title with a low blow. He will not spare any opportunity to get back his kingpin position. This rivalry will continue till the No Mercy PPV.
The crowd was on their feet for our first-ever Smackdown Women’s champion, too. The question is who will be her first opponent for the title? Here, you can expect the returning Eva Marie since her suspension is almost over.
If you remember, then it was her who cost Becky in several matches before she was suspended for the Wellness Policy violation. The creative will certainly look to insert Eva into the title picture once she returns.
On the other hand, Nikki Bella will look for her redemption against Carmella who once again cost her in a match, and this time it was the title match.
Also, we will witness Heath Slater signing up his Smackdown contract, finally. We might get the Usos to spoil the party in the middle of the ring. The Miz is also far from over with his rift against Daniel Bryan. So, there’s some fall-out in the waiting, as well.
