Bengaluru, Nov 16: It was a much-hyped edition of WWE Smackdown live since the show had celebrated its 900th night.
The show-runners, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon kicked off the show to announce that Edge and Undertaker were present on the show and will appear later tonight.
But, the show would be kicked off with an Intercontinental championship match between Dolph Ziggler and The Miz.
Quite surprisingly, the Miz regained the title from the show-off that was least expected. The contest was good and back and forth but the Spirit Squad showed up to interfere at some point.
Ziggler super-kicked them to make things even but Miz locked in the figure-four. Ziggler managed to get to the bottom rope.
But, Miz rolled him up as Maryse pushed him back from him behind. The referee did not see it as Miz got the pinfall. He celebrated with his wife and the spirit squad aftermath.
The Smackdown Women’s captain Nikki Bella featured in a match against Carmella. She seemed in the driver’s seat by hitting her pendant moves when The Raw team’s captain Charlotte showed up outside the ring to create the distraction.
The entire team of raw ran down to the ring to create disqualification. The Smackdown Women’s team showed up further making it a brawl. The blue brigade stood tall as Naomi put them down with a high-fly.
Kalisto defeated NXT superstar Oney Lorcan to gain momentum for Sunday’s PPV and his title match. In a 16 man tag team match, the American Alpha got the pinfall to pick up the win in behalf of their team.
The main segment saw Edge returning to Smackdown to host Cutting Edge with the Smackdown men’s team.
He delivered his inspirational talk to every one of them but Undertaker’s bell tolled in between. He showed in the ring claiming that he is back in business in full-form.
He perhaps is going to feature on Smackdown as a full-timer. The Phenome advised the Smackdown team to put team Raw “rest in peace” or else they will feel the wrath of the Deadman, afterward.
