Bengaluru, Feb 25: It was much unfortunate for WWE when Shelton Benjamin was put into shelves due to an unfortunate injury.
During the time of the WWE Draft, WWE has already started airing the promos regarding his return to hype up the moment. However, he could not make it due to a shoulder injury.
To fix the problem, he underwent a much-needed surgery back at last year's Summer and we have not heard any updates regarding his return or if he has started his rehab process or not.
However, the Golden Standard posted some update regarding his recovery process from which we can understand he will not be available at least until Wrestlemania.
From the below-posted tweet, it is clear that he was away from the in-ring capacity for a long time. He just started to put weights and it will take months for his comeback.
Repping out 225LBs easily for the first time in 8 months. Feels almost normal but still got work to do.

Recovery is going well. Still months away from anything physical so all the RR predictions are as accurate as they've been the last 6 years https://t.co/eb6q2YbEsJ

Shelton competed in a pro-wrestling competition NOAH in Japan during early 2016. While competing in a match there, he suffered the torn rotator calf.
At that point, it did not seem as a serious one. However, it was during WWE's routine medical check-up when it turned out to be a fatal one.
Even WWE was not aware of the circumstances since he was wrestling in full capacity in other promotions when he decided to sign with the company.
This was the reason why WWE started airing the vignette around him. He later confirmed in Jim Ross' podcast that it was 'a communication and timing issue.'
As of now, we can expect him to be back for the post-Wrestlemania season.
