Bengaluru, Nov 9: WWE dropped a bombshell via an announcement during the end segment of Smackdown Live.
The General Manager shocked the world by naming the final participant of the Smackdown team for Survivor Series which changed the entire complexion of the match.
Shane McMahon was brought as the fifth member of team Smackdown. He replaced an injured Baron Corbin who is suffering from knee concussion.
Corbin suffered the injury during his match with Kalisto, last night and got pulled off from the 30th edition of Survivor Series.
The rest of the team member of team Smackdown is going to be AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton.
The crowd in attendance, as well as home, jumped out of their seats after hearing the news. The entire arena celebrated with the Smackdown team as the live event concluded from Glasgow, Scotland.
Shane-O-Mac was last seen in a match at Wrestlemania 32 against the Undertaker. He competed inside the Hell in a Cell match in a losing effort.
Since he was not seen featuring in a match since then, the speculation is that is he physically fit to get back into the ring?
The same question was raised by Renee Young during the Talking Smack show. Daniel Bryan said that he himself was the first choice for Survivor Series.
But, everyone knows that he is unable to compete due to the neck injury and hence Shane was roped in. Bryan also said that he expects that Shane still is very much fit to represent team Smackdown at Survivor Series.
However, all of this talking are part of kayfabe storylines. Corbin’s injury is not legit and Shane’s inclusion was a brilliant plan sketched by the WWE Creative at the very last moment.
Smackdown will have the upper-hand heading into the dual brand PPV with the commissioner himself, by their side.
Plus, Undertaker and Edge will be present next week to fire the roster up on the last show before Survivor Series takes place on November 20th.
