Bengaluru, Nov 28: WWE arranges an annual event every year to salute the soldiers of the USA who work tirelessly around the world to keep the citizens safe.
The event named “WWE Tribute to the Troops” has now become one of the most anticipated events of the year.
This year too will not be any exception and the event will take place in the month of December.
As reported by WWE, this year it is going to be the 13th edition of the Tribute to the troops. It will take place in the capital city of the USA, Washington, DC.
The Verizon Center will host the event on December 13th. It will not air live. Instead, it will go on the air the very next night i.e. on December 14th.
Since December 13th is Tuesday and Smackdown Live is supposed to take place at the same venue, the taping for the Troops’ event will be done on the same night.
It means that WWE will have a packed schedule for that week. December 12th and 13th will mark Raw and Smackdown following 14th with the Tribute to the troops.
Also, WWE Roadblock: End of the Line is scheduled on December 18th, in the same week. This is going to be the last PPV in the year 2016.
Vince McMahon quoted the following paying honor to the soldiers: “Our servicemen and women work tirelessly and selflessly for our freedom, and it is an honor to continue the 'Tribute to the Troops' tradition for them this year in our nation’s capital.”
Major General Bradley Becker released the following statement regarding WWE organizing this event in Washington, this year.
“The National Capital Region is ... an ideal location for the upcoming 'Tribute to the Troops' because of a large number of military personnel and their families that live and work in the DC-Metro area."
"I know that our service members are big fans of WWE and are excited to participate in this wonderful event.”
