Bengaluru, Nov 18: We were shocked to see The Miz grabbing the Intercontinental title once again on Smackdown Live’s 900th episode, this week.
Ziggler has won the title just a few weeks back and we got no clues that he is going to drop it, so early. Once again the Spirit Squad came into play by involving into the match to distract Ziggler.
The show-off managed to get rid off by delivering superkicks but he could not shove off the presence of Maryse. It was during a roll-up by Ziggler when Maryse put Miz back over him without Ziggler’s consent.
Hence, Miz got the pinfall so easily and became a 6-time Intercontinental champion. So, he will now defend the title in a cross-brand match against Sami Zayn at the Survivor Series PPV.
According to the reports, the Miz won the title due to the cross
brand match at Sunday’s PPV. He will lose back his title
against Zayn so that Zayn’s efforts can be portrayed
stronger than ever. Winning the title against a heel will put him
over more than taking it from a face like Ziggler.
The rumor mill also suggests that after winning the title, Zayn might take the title back to Raw. There is a slight chance of brand switching between Zayn and The Miz. However, the majority of those suggest that no jumping ship will be happening for the Miz as he is still scheduled to continue his storyline with Daniel Bryan. The teasing of switching brand is nothing but a part of the storyline.
As we have seen on Smackdown, The Miz is still utilizing Bryan’s pendant moves like the YES kicks or the running high-knees on his opponents. We might get this feud stretching up to next year, as well causing one last match for Daniel Bryan.
The fans were willing to see two fighters, Zayn and Ziggler bringing the house down with a show-stealer match. But, WWE has something else in mind. However, the Miz vs. Zayn also has the same potential if planned accordingly.
