Bengaluru, Nov 30: The veteran WWE Women’s champion, Mickie James made her return to the WWE during NXT Takeover: Toronto.
She stunned the audience showing her wrestling skills to the fans in attendance. The reigning champion, Asuka was taken to the limit before being put over, ultimately.
But, the resiliency that she showed at this age was so promising that the WWE universe is buzzing about who is going to be next in line for James.
Will she return to the main WWE roster? In a recent interview, she came up with a positive reaction. Triple H further fuelled it up by saying, “her career is lying in her own hands.”
Meanwhile, the rumour mill is suggesting that she will be signed by Smackdown Live in near future.
The speculation was increased since the current Smackdown Women’s champion was asked on Twitter if she will be defending her title against James. The Irish Lass-kicker also turned out with an affirmative answer.
Absolutely! https://t.co/8gUESlEONm— Becky Lynch (@BeckyLynchWWE) November 22, 2016
The scenario is suitable for James to feature in the Smackdown roster. Becky ynch is currently feuding with Alexa Bliss which is going to be over after TLC PPV and Becky would need a new opponent for her. James would be perfect in this role to put over Becky as a great champion.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter commented the following regarding the matter,
“[Mickie James] is certainly good enough to be on the main roster, and it’s not like SmackDown couldn’t use another experienced woman, especially with Carmella and Alexa Bliss and everyone there.
"They could use another babyface that’s got a lot of experience. She’s a lot more experienced than all of them, except for Natalya.”
As said by Meltzer there are certain chances for James to have one last run in the WWE to put over new talents on Smackdown Live.
But, if she has signed just a one-match deal with WWE, then she might join the NXT Performance Center coach in Orlando, Florida. Then she might be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as 2017 class of inductee.
