Bengaluru, Nov 6: It’s a fact that John Cena has shifted his role in the WWE for the past couple of years. He is no more belonging to the championship category for the better part of the year as he sued to be in the past. After more than two years he has been featured in the main event of a PPV at the No Mercy PPV.
He was not given much momentum since we all knew that he is going to be on another vacation due to his filming of American Grit on the Fox Network.
However, reports suggest that he will be available for most of the year 2017 and hence he might get back into the championship scenario in the time of Wrestlemania.
A report from 434.com suggests that upon his return John Cena’s next opponent is going to be Baron Corbin.
This man is going to be the bonafide heel for the Smackdown roster and the future of the company. But, he has not got enough competition ever since winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, this year.
So, WWE Creative thinks it will be a better idea to square him off against the franchise of the company.
Baron himself complained to the Smackdown General Manager, Daniel Bryan regarding less competition for him in the blue brand.
He cut a heel promo a few weeks ago on Talking Smack and still has not got enough competition. So, after Survivor Series will be over and we will be on the road to Wrestlemania during January 2017, WWE might try to put over Corbin with the Cenation Leader. This will further send him to a title match at Wrestlemania.
As for Cena, his most likely opponent for next Wrestlemania is going to be Undertaker. Especially after the news broke out that he is appearing on Smackdown in a couple of weeks.
Else, WWE might make plans to make Cena win his 16th World title at the grandest stage of them all tying the record of the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
