Big Show has appeared in an interview where he said that Shaquille O'Neil might have backed down from the Wrestlemania challenge.

Bengaluru, Feb 27: WWE wants to bring some mainstream athletes for Wrestlemania to add more star power to it.

This year, it was supposed to be the veteran NBA player Shaquille O'Neil at performing at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. A match between him and Big Show was being teased for over year, now.

Considering the size of both these men, the contest was about to be a gigantic one. Plus, this is not the first time that they have crossed path with each other. They first met in a WWE ring in 2009.

It was followed up, last year when the Shaq entered the Andre the Giant Memorial Battler Royal and confronted the world's largest athlete.

Later, they again met during the ESPYs awards where the challenge was laid down by Big Show. Shaq accepted it to set up the mega match at Wrestlemania 33.

Ever since then, there has been no progress in this storyline which gave birth of the rumours that the match is being canceled.

Furthermore, Big Show has appeared in an interview with WWE.com where he said that Shaq might have backed down from the Wrestlemania challenge.

Big Show was quoted: “I get it. I don't have foot powder commercials, car commercials, insurance commercials. I get it. He's a busy man.

"But if he's gonna step in the ring, in my business, at our biggest event of the year? Show me you're serious.

"If anything, talk a little trash. Let me know you're motivated. Because right now? I just get the feeling he's terrified.

He shot his mouth off, he's in over his head and he's trying to back out. So just let me know what's going on, brother."

The Giant of the WWE was preparing for this match for the last few months. He is in the best shape that one can ever imagine.

So, it will be unfortunate if the match gets canceled due to some reasons. This was also speculated as the send-off match for him. In Shaq's absence, WWE has to find another big opponent for him.
