Bengaluru, Feb 28: A battle royal took place on this past week's Smackdown to crown a new number one contender for the WWE championship. The winner was likely to face Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania for the title.

But, things did not go well as the last two competitors standing in the ring landed on the ring floor at the same time, almost.

A chaos ensued during the end of the show and the Daniel Bryan announced that both these men, AJ Styles, and Luke Harper will go one-on-one to declare the true winner.

Now, there have been a lot of controversies over this situation. Some of them say that Luke Harper was the one to win the contest, originally.

But, the superstars botched while falling down over the top rope and this is the reason why instant replies were not shown on the show. Later, the GM tried to cover it up coming onto the stage.

On the other hand, cagesideseats.com suggested that the chaotic finish was planned by the creative, itself since they still are unable to finalize the number one contender.

There are no confirmations yet whether Randy Orton will go against Wyatt at Wrestlemania or someone new will replace him.

An Orton Vs Wyatt feud is in the making for quite sometimes now but it is uncertain as of when this will finally unfold on the television.

So, until and unless this happens on television there's no certainty of whether this match happens at Wrestlemania or after it.

Meanwhile, Raw General Manager, Mick Foley was not at all happy the way it was handled on Smackdown.

He blasted the show-runners for not taking the help of instant replays and coming to a definite conclusion.

Foley also stated that he and Stephanie McMahon would have been gone for a different decision for sure.

As of now, we have to wait until the singles match between Harper and Styles happens on Smackdown.

The outcome of this one might throw some lights on the future directions of the WWE championship scenario.
