WWE Raw, August 29, 2016: Results and highlights with videos

By Raja

Houston, Aug 30: WWE Raw was hosted live from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas as the night kicked off with the 4 contenders Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens and Big Cass having a chat over their chances of winning the championship in tonight's main event.

Now this type of meeting is expected to end in a chaos and that's exactly what happened. Reigns stood tall by eliminating the others and staring at the gold.

Neville got a match with Jericho with whom he broke his ankle earlier this year. However, that ankle came into play once again as he tapped out after Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho.

Dominance was in full on display for the mammoths named Nia Jax and Braun Strowman. They both won their respective matches that were scheduled against the rookies from Texas City.

Zinder Mahal got a chance again but failed to impress. Sami Zayn was his opponent and despite all the resistance from Zinder, Zayn connected with the big boot to pick up the win.

We have a got a mixed tag team action among the New Day and Bayley vs. Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Dana Brooke. This was a refreshing action, to say the least. Bayley connected with the “Bayley to Bayley" to score the pinfall victory for her team.

Sheamus picked up the second victory over Cesaro on WWE Raw to lead the series 2-0. Sheamus focused on the taped shoulder of Cesaro and hit it against the steel post. Cesaro had no choice but to tap out with the clobber-leaf locked in.

Things got interesting with Paul Heyman confronting Stephanie McMahon when she hinted that a storm is coming towards the beast. He is going to pay for what he did at Summerslam. A $500 is not enough penalty and WWE surely has something big in store for him.

In the championship match, we witnessed a triumphant return from Triple H who hit a pedigree to Reigns and Rollins to shock the world. Only thing Kevin Owens had to do was to cover Rollins and becoming the new WWE Universal Champion. Triple H handed him the championship to Owens as the crowd chanted “you deserve it".
