Bengaluru, Nov 24: This past Saturday, we have seen the return of the veteran Diva, Mickie James inside a WWE ring as part of the NXT Takeover: Toronto.
She competed against the current NXT Women’s champion, Asuka for her title. Now, prior to the big fight, she spoke to John Canton and Rey Moralde on the TJRWrestling Podcast when she revealed that she is open to returning to the main roster of the WWE.
When she was asked for the same she gave a positive reaction by saying,
“Absolutely, I would be completely open to being on WWE's main roster again. I also recognize that people talk about WWE's young talent and they're all hungry and I totally agree with that because there's a lot of amazing talent that's both signed and unsigned.
I feel like there's something unique, special and different that I can bring to the roster.”
James has been a former WWE Women’s champion who had a great rivalry with Trish Stratus. In fact, she has defeated Trish at Wrestlemania 22 for the Women’s title.
She is a veteran in all wrestling terms and can bring a lot to the ongoing Women’s revolution in the WWE.
Her opponent upon return, Asuka too is a part of the revolution and Mickie showed great respect to her by commenting,
“Asuka is an incredible performer. I've seen her work in Japan, I've seen her work in Shimmer and I've seen her work in NXT.
"It's cool to see a character not only come to life but be a breath of fresh of air and the fans connect to her so well.”
James was last seen in WWE in the year 2010. After her WWE stint, she went on to work under the AAA banner in Mexico, the same that Alberto Del Rio works for right now. After spending one year there, she went to TNA and became the Knockout champion on multiple occasions.
