Dean Ambrose does not think that John Cena had turned “part-timer” in the WWE for nothing. He has a proper reason behind it and we will get to know it too, very soon.

The franchise has not been on his very best form for quite a sometimes now. He has come up short in the dream match against AJ Styles at Summerslam.

Though he was added to the main event of No Mercy PPV, he digested a clean pin against Dean Ambrose on Smackdown in nearly seven long years.

Latest reports suggest that Cena will soon go on to a hiatus from WWE for almost two months. On mid-October, he will head for a sabbatical from WWE for filming the second season of American Grit on Fox television. This is the second year in a row he will be taking the time off for filming a TV series.

His current schedule indicates that he will be appearing last on SmackDown Live on Tuesday, 11 October at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA.

This will be the next episode of Smackdown after the No Mercy PPV. Cena’s name does not feature in any of the show’s listings until this year’s end. He is expected to be back once the holiday season around Christmas starts to pick up.

But, quite interestingly his name does include in the Survivor Series PPV in Toronto, Canada in mid-November.

This is the last big PPV of a calendar year in which both the brands are allowed to take part. It’s still not sure in which capacity he will appear if he is not involved in the televised episodes of Smackdown.

John Cena was also not appearing on the televised episodes of Smackdown Live once Summerslam was over.

As a result, he was not part of the Smackdown’s first-ever PPV, Backlash. However, he regularly appeared at the house shows and even was part of WWE’s world tour in September.

His absence was the reason to hand AJ Styles the WWE World title. The Phenomenal One has now converted John Cena’s catchphrase, “the face that runs the place” to “the champ that runs the camp.”
