Lincoln, Sep 6: In the final segment of Smackdown, we saw AJ Styles confronting the WWE World Champion, Dean Ambrose.
It was the final build up for their championship match at the Backlash PPV. Styles retreated after he went on to self-proclaim himself as “the face that runs the place”.
Ambrose handed him a bag which contained a participation trophy for bowling saying that he is getting only that after their match is over at Backlash.
AJ Styles was seemingly frustrated after facing such insults from the champion. He tried to protest by saying that John Cena did not take him either seriously but he beat John Cena at Summerslam and after which Cena is out of action on Smackdown. After that, he laid Ambrose down with a low blow as the show went off the air.
However, WWE always keeps a special treat for the fans in attendance to send them home happy and there’s no difference, either, last night.
AJ continued his beat down on Ambrose and all of a sudden John Cena came out to a huge reception to make the save for Ambrose. He went right after Styles, mercilessly to seek revenge.
Bray Wyatt was added to the chaos, further to set up a huge six men tag team match. The dark match saw the team of John Cena and the WWE World champion, Dean Ambrose taking on Wyatt and Styles. Some pictures of the match are given alongside.
Cena started the match by gaining the upper-hand and even delivered a five knuckle shuffle to Bray Wyatt. But the eater of the world came right back into the match by putting Cena down for the most part of the match, after wards. Cena was able to tag in Ambrose finally who cleaned the house by shoving both Wyatt and Styles off the ring.
The ending saw Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Styles and Ambrose countering the Sister Abigail to connect with the Dirty Deeds to pick up the win.
The crowd was sent home happily after the match. Also, the presence of John Cena in a dark match means he is waiting to come back to the TV taping for a proper time and most probably it is going to be prior to the Survivor Series PPV.
