WWE: Heath Slater and Rhyno to lose tag team title at No Mercy PPV

By Raja

Bengaluru, Sep 29: Heath Slater is in the prime time of his career starting from the WWE Draft. He was the only guy in the WWE active roster who was not drafted either on Raw or Smackdown Live.

When many thought that Slater is done with the company and will leave soon, WWE came up with the idea of a great “free agent" storyline.

He appeared on both Raw and Smackdown Live demanding his contract to both of the respective General Managers.

In the meantime, he faced Brock Lesnar to go to the Suplex City, Randy Orton (also defeated him via disqualification) and Rhyno.

After going through all the turmoil, he got backed up by the WWE universe courtesy of a superb story-telling from the WWE creative.

Finally, he got the opportunity to participate in the tag team tournament with his partner, Rhyno. This pair became an instant hit, too.

They complemented each other, so well. Rhyno is the muscle of the tag team champions while Slater does the talking.

They were supported so much that the creative had to change in planning and give the first-ever Smackdown tag team title to them. Initially, the Usos were the first choice for the belts.

But, latest reports suggest that the Cinderella story for the reigning tag champs will be over, soon. At No Mercy PPV on October 9th from Sacramento, California the tag title will be defended against The Usos. Ringsidenews.com reported that as per the storyline, Slater and Rhyno will lose their title at the PPV.

The Usos will win the title to renew their feud with the American Alpha whom they attacked to knock down from the tag team tournament before Backlash.

The American Alpha was brought to Smackdown Live to be the face of the tag division and the Usos have turned heel for the sole purpose.

However, WWE has to keep in mind Slater and Rhyno's increasing popularity and they should not be kept out of the title picture.
