Bengaluru, Sep 9: Two weeks ago Smackdown Live was taped from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas and the crowd was informed that WWE is returning to the same venue once again for the TLC PPV in the month of December.
4th of December will mark the return of the annual TLC PPV. Previously the name was missing from the PPV schedule but the audience loves TLC gimmick matches and hence WWE is bringing it back.
The event is rumored to be a Smackdown special PPV since no official announcement came to us, thus far. However, it’s almost concrete that it will be taking place on the blue brand’s behalf since Raw already has another PPV in the same month. Here’s the full schedule of the WWE PPVs for the rest of the year.
Backlash – September 11 (Smackdown)
Clash Of Champions – September 25 (Raw)
No Mercy – October 9 (Smackdown)
Hell in a Cell – October 30 (Raw)
Survivor Series – November 20 (Raw and Smackdown)
TLC – December 4 (Smackdown)
Roadblock – December 18 (Raw)
With the above list, it is almost guaranteed that it’s only a matter of time that both the brands confirm the TLC and Roadblock PPV in December. However, it is worthy to mention the Roadblock PPV will take place for the second time, this year. Prior to Wrestlemania, on March 12th WWE held the event as a WWE Network exclusive event from Ontario, Toronto, Canada. The main event was Triple H defending his title against Dean Ambrose.
As announced by WWE, we will get 19 PPVs in a calendar year from now onwards which means there will be 7 additional PPVs.
Previously, WWE used to arrange a PPV per month. That tradition got nixed after the Draft and now the story-telling should be fast enough to build up the hype for main event matches within the limited span. However, a specific feud will have a long-term storytelling to focus on them. Now time will tell, that the increment of PPVs will see a success or not.
