Bengaluru, Dec 9: After his retirement in February, Daniel Bryan returned to WWE as the Smackdown General Manger during the WWE Draft. He was appointed by the commissioner of the blue brand, Shane McMahon.
Nobody can deny the fact that Smackdown viewership is on a huge roll with the presence of Bryan on the show. But, he hinted to leave the show once he becomes a father.
Recently, the leader of the Yes-nation appeared on the Sam Robert’s wrestling podcast where he was asked about his future in the WWE. He hinted that after the baby arrives in April 2017, he might leave WWE to take care of the newborn. Here’s what he exactly said,
“Once we have the baby that is the tough part. It’s like, man, do I really want to leave the baby…; there are times on SmackDown that I don’t even want to be on it. I only want to be on it when it’s absolutely necessary for me as the GM to be out there.”
Bryan has told on the Total Bellas show that taking up a duty of the Smackdown GM was not his original choice. But, he was forced since he was under the contract of WWE and will be until the year 2018.
Bryan has also said that Brie Bella wants to get back into the ring once she conceives the baby. It will probably be during next year’s Summerslam when his wife might return. So, if Brie is on the road with WWE then Bryan has to stay at home for the baby. Also, he does not know if he will be able to leave the baby for long or not.
At a time, his decision is not confirmed but his absence will be a great loss for the Tuesday Night show. He’s been a popular face for the show who dragged a lot of ratings. He also hinted that even if Brie returns at Summerslam 2017, it will just be a one-off match.
