Bengaluru, Sep 8: In the tag team division of Smackdown, American Alpha is the strongest one. They were meant to be the face of the tag team division since the moment they were called up from the NXT brands.

Many would have also believed them as the favorites to win the tag team championship tournament and thereby holding the new Smackdown tag team championship.

However, unfortunately, they are no longer the participants of the tournament after last night's Smackdown.

They did reach the final of the tournament by winning their scheduled match against the Usos but the Samoan twins went furious over their quick loss and hence delivered a vicious attack on American Alpha's Chad Gable and Jason Jordan.

Within a span of a minute, the Uso twins turned heel by keeping their opponents down. As we have seen, they performed a number of finishing maneuvers to injure Gable's leg. It was clear by the sight that Gable was hurt and we got some update about the situation once Smackdown went off the air.

On the talking Smack show in the WWE Network Smackdown commissioner, Shane McMahon confirmed that Gable is dealing with the injury which will keep him aside for two to four weeks from now. Hence the American Alpha can't compete at the final of the tag team tournament at the Backlash PPV.

However, their scheduled opponents Slater and Rhyno will not be handed the Smackdown tag team championship, just like that.

Instead, The Usos and the Hype Bros will compete in a second chance match. Whoever wins the match will advance and feature in the final against Slater and Rhyno.

However, the injury of the American Alpha might be a part of the storyline. As this point, WWE is investing too much on Slater and Rhyno to win the tag team tournament.

But, since American Alpha is the face of the division, they can't end up losing the final. Since they were kept aside by this kayfabe attack from the Usos. They are sure going to come back to claim their spot going right after the Usos.

On the other hand, The Usos needed this heel turn to turn the attention towards them. A heated up rivalry between them and the American Alpha will be worth a watch in the tag team division.
