She became the first-ever Smackdown Women’s champion at the Backlash PPV but unfortunately never got the chance to defend it to prove herself a fighting champion.
WWE generally does let us know the with the particular injury updates about wrestlers.
However, it was different in this case. The exact reason behind Becky’s absence and her health condition remained disclosed due to which she had missed out the championship match at No Mercy.
Recently, she made an appearance at WWE Comic-Con Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she was asked about her injury and how her condition is right now.
She did not want to make any comments about details of the injury but she did say that she has “something removed” from her body. She is totally fine now and will defend her title on November 8th edition of Smackdown Live which will take place from Glasgow, Scotland.
She later spoke to Rob Leighs of Talk Sports where she commented,
“I had to go to the ER, but it is all good, I got better within a few days. I wanted to be back on the road because they kept me out a little bit longer. I just wanted to get back in there as soon as possible.”
The absence has hurt her momentum to a certain extent. She was the first pick for the Smackdown Women’s division. So, quite expectedly she had earned the championship at Backlash. But, at the same time after getting the first break in WWE, she never had the opportunity to go to the next level to establish her legacy.
We hope she will be given with some strong booking in the future on “the land of opportunity.” She and Nikki Bella are the two top names in the Smackdown Women’s division, right now.
