WWE: Alberto Del Rio gives update about his departure and Paige

Bengaluru, Nov 26: Alberto Del Rio, the former WWE Superstar is now enjoying his stint in the independent circuits.

He is under contract with the Lucha Underground promotion but also is associated with several ventures that let him allow to work, freely.

He along with her girlfriend, Paige has opened their restaurant in San Antonio, Texas. Both were present during the grand opening of the restaurant.

While promoting the restaurant, Del Rio was interviewed by KENS 5 and gave several updates about his personal and professional life.

He discussed his departure from the WWE, his upcoming projects. He also gave us updates about her girlfriend Paige returning to the ring as soon as she feels like 100 percent fit.

While speaking of the reason of departing WWE, he said that he wanted to work freely and not under the big banner.

However, he did not forget to thank WWE for what he has received from their i.e. fame and big moments. He said,

“That was one of the main reasons I decided to leave that company, it was my decision not to work for WWE.

"I'm always gonna be grateful with that company because they put me out there, they gave me a name, they gave me an opportunity to show my talent to the world.

"And because of that, I am always going to be grateful, but it was time for me to just enjoy my family, start new projects like this one (the restaurant), I'm the President of Combate Americas which is the first American-Hispanic MMA company in history.

Even this year, he has got the opportunity to work with Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley at Wrestlemania. He cherished the moment by saying,

“It was fantastic, I had really good moments with that company, and that moment was one of them. It was amazing to share the ring with guys, those legends, Shawn Micheals, Steve Austin. We had a lot of fun."

Del Rio was also seemed very excited about the fact that he is getting to share his personal life for the Total Divas show.

Paige is a regular face there for the past couple of years and has been a controversial figure on the show.

The speculation was that due to the conflict between the couple and WWE, we might not get to see them in the sixth season. But, E Network has already shown brief footages of Del Rio on the show.

While speaking about Paige's career, he stopped all the rumours regarding her career going to be called off abruptly.

He said that there's no planning to give up so early, at this age. She is on a strict training session to her recovery from the career-threatening neck surgery and all this is due to one purpose and that is to get back onto the ring. We can see more updates regarding them on the Total Divas show.
