Bengaluru, June 2: It took them 58 years to qualify for a major international tournament but now as they are there, Wales national football team have taken the world by storm.
After topping their group ahead of traditional European giants and neighbours England, The Dragons have now roared into the semi-final of the Euro 2016, beating Belgium 3-1 last night (July 1).
The Red Devils took the lead early in the game thanks to a screamer from AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan. But Wales restored parity quickly courtesy a power header from skipper Ashley Williams. The teams went into the lemon-break level on scoreline.
Belgium started the second half on an impressive note and looked the more dominant side. Marc Wilmots introduced Manchester United midfielder Marouanne Fellaini to improve the physical presence at the heart of the midfield.
Somewhat against the run of play, Reading midfielder Hal Robson-Kanu gave Wales the lead in the 55th minute fooling the Belgian defense. The last nail in the Belgium coffin was hammered by Sam Vokes which decided the fate of the game.
As Wales achieved their best ever feat in international football, fans around the world flooded twitter with several congratulatory tweets.
