Transfer rumour: Manchester City in pursuit of Real Madrid's Toni Kroos

Manchester, July 21: English Premier League giants Manchester City have reportedly launched an audacious £50million bid for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.

According to reports from Mirror, Pep Guardiola, who is currently in charge of Manchester City is ready to re-united with his old pupil Kroos. Guardiola managed Kroos for a season at Bayern Munich before he had sold him to Real Madrid in 2014.

It is being reported that Real Madrid are likely to offload at least one of their star players this summer in order to go ahead in their pursuit to bring home French midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus for a record transfer fee.

Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez is already linked with several other clubs and the star player might move out this summer as he has found it difficult to find a place in the team's starting XI.

Toni Kroos has opined several times that he is happy at Santiago Bernabeu and has no plans of mving out any time soon.

Manchester City are yet to speak to the Spanish giants about the possible availability of the German who still has four years left in the present contract.

Pep Guardiola is particularly keen on working with Kroos. Since joining City, the Spanish manager is focused on making quality additions to his midfield.

He has already signed Ikay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund. Kroos' arrival at Etihad would definitely ringh the farewell bells for Yaya Toure, a player, Guardiola is not fond of.

It will be interesting if the deal actually happens. Real Madrid are expected to reject the bid though, Kroos bing an important member of Zinedine Zidane's side.
