Chennai, Oct 21: Superstar Rajinikanth will cheer for Chennaiyin FC in tonight's Indian Super League (ISL) football match against Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

The news of Rajinikanth coming to the stadium for today's game was revealed by another superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, who too will be there to cheer the home team.

"T 1651 - @Chennaiyin FC .. GO CHENNAI .. dear friend Rajnikanth coming along with me to cheer home team in Stadium Marina Arena ..," Amitabh Bachchan tweeted on Tuesday evening, two hours before the game.

Amitabh's son Abhishek Bachchan is one of the co-owners of the Chennaiyin side along with Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni.

Tonight's match starts at 7 PM IST. The southern derby has generated a lot of interest among the fans. And with Rajinikanth set to make his presence felt at the stadium, the Chennai spectators will increase.

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is a co-owner of Kerala Blasters. Chennaiyin won their opening game against FC Goa 2-1 while Kerala were beaten 0-1 by NorthEast United FC.
