Six-time champion Kurt Angle clears the air about his WWE return

By Raja

Bengaluru, Aug 27: Kurt Angle is a six-time World heavyweight champion in WWE and a record six-time TNA World heavyweight champion, too. Apart from that, he is also a 1996 Olympic Gold medalist which is a tremendous achievement by an athlete.

He had left WWE, almost a decade ago and made the most of it by having a successful run in the TNA promotion, as well. However, his stint as a TNA wrestler has been over for a while now and that's the reason why the pro-wrestling fans want him back to his home, in the WWE for one last time.

Kurt himself too mentioned the fact that he wants to be back in WWE in a certain capacity. Hence, during the WWE Draft on the month of July, the rumours went viral about the former WWE champion's return to the company.

However, the much-anticipated return never came to fruition due to lack of creative planning. Recently, Kurt Angle appeared on the Reality of Wrestling show in Texas and mentioned the following. The good thing is that Triple H and Vince McMahon do want him to be back for the last time. They have a positive conversation as Kurt quoted the followings:

“For me to go back it would have to be the right match - the right program. Also, you would have to have interest from Triple H and Vince McMahon. I spoke with them a few months ago [and] they do have interest [and] they just don't know what they wanna do and they don't know when."

However, the bad news is no further progress was made after the conversation which suggests that the return planning regarding him has been postponed, as of now.

"I haven't talked to anybody in the last few months. I don't expect to until late fall. You're not gonna see Kurt Angle in that ring this year. Maybe next year, maybe not at all. It was more of a loose conversation. They have interest (and) I have interest but (the talks) didn't really go anywhere so right now I'm enjoying my time off."

The reason that Kurt Angle is an injury-prone wrestler is supposed to be the biggest constraint that barred him from a return. Vince McMahon would not be interested in hiring a superstar to see him getting a concussion soon after joining the roster.

Also, the company is not willing to hire such an aged wrestler considering what happened with Sting in the past. His dramatic returned failed due to his sudden fainting during a match.
