Rio de Janeiro, Aug 1: With 4 days to go for Rio Olympics 2016, athletes have started arriving in Brazil for the biggest sporting spectacle. The Games will be officially declared open on August 5 at the Opening Ceremony.
For the first time, Brazil will host the Olympics. It is also the maiden Games in South America. ('India will win only 2 medals')
Amidst doping scandals, Zika virus, issues with the Athletes Village and other problems, Brazil has started welcoming the athletes from across the globe.
Over 10,000 athletes will be seen in action for 19 days. India is sending its biggest ever Olympic contingent with 118 members.

When is the Opening Ceremony and what time does it start?
The Games will be officially declared open at a glittering ceremony in Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium, which has a capacity of 74,738. The Opening Ceremony starts at 8 PM Local Time on August 5 (Friday). However with a big time difference, it will be 4.30 AM (August 6, Saturday) in India when the ceremony begins. It will last for over 4 hours.
India Standard Time - 8 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Brazil time.
Which TV channel will telecast the Opening Ceremony in India?
Star Sports network (Star Sports 1, 2, 3, 4 and also High Definition channels) will broadcast the Opening Ceremony and has also got the rights to show all the other sports events during the Olympics. Commentary will be available both in Hindi and English. Live streaming is on starsports.com and Hotstar.
Who will light the Olympic flame?
Brazilian football legend Pele has been given the honour to light the Olympic flame at the Opening Ceremony. Pele has even composed a song "Esperanca" for Olympics.

According to reports, Brazil's supermodel Gisele will be a part of the Opening Ceremony, which is billed as "sexiest ever".
