Rio de Janeiro, Aug 6: The third day at Rio Olympics will be featuring the Indian women's hockey team who will take on Japan in their first group stage game. All eyes will be on the eves as they are participating at the games after 36 years.
The women's archery team too will be in action in the elimination and final round. The women's team comprises of players like Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi and Laxmirani Majhi.
In the qualification stage the eves finished seventh and individually all of them advanced for the Round of 32 on Friday (Aug 5).
Star Indian archer Deepika Kumari finished 20th with a total score of 640 while Bombayla accumulated 638. Laxmirani ended a disappointing 43rd with a total score of 614.
In shooting Heena Sindhu will be in action in the women's 10m Air Pistol category and Manavjit Singh Sandhu will take part in men's trap qualification.
Indian woman gymnast Dipa Karmakar will be in action in gymnastics. Here categories are Uneven bars, beam, vault, floor exercise individual all round
