Ronaldo's new hairdo was not accepted by his fans. They criticised the new-look via Twitter. However, reports suggest that the Real Madrid star's haircut was not a fashion statement but a worthy gesture to a boy who had brain surgery.

According to football fans on Twitter, Ronaldo was paying tribute to a young boy named Erik Ortiz Cruz in Spain. The boy underwent brain surgery recently.

It was for the same boy for who Ronaldo had paid the entire medical bill of Euros 50,000.

But the new look of Ronaldo is for the same boy or not is yet to be confirmed.

"Eurosport" said the boy had surgery several months ago while some claimed it to be last week. The report had a picture of the boy in hospital after surgery, in February, 2014.
