Bengaluru, Feb 12: If Smackdown Live ratings were up during the end of 2016, one of the main reasons for that was coming up with fresh storylines.

The feud between Dean Ambrose and the Miz was one of the most talked storylines prior to the Royal Rumble PPV. This was due to the fact that both the superstars' real-life partners were involved into it.

Renee Young who is dating Dean Ambrose from the year 2015 was brought to an angle for the very first time which received much appreciation from the crowd.

As the perfect counter, Miz's wife, Maryse got involved into the scene starting some altercations between the two at the backstage area which made the feud even more interesting.



However, things had seen an unexpected halt among the four of them after Dean Ambrose was able to take the Intercontinental title away from him.

The feud was still unfinished but never carried forward. Fans though that this feud might be continued once the Wrestlemania season picks up but with reports from Dave Meltzer coming in, the chances are fewer regarding the same.

The veteran journalist said that WWE has abandoned the storyline and reportedly moved away from it.

The creative decided to do so despite the natural progression of the storyline which earned much attention from the fans since they were seeing angles from real-life storylines after a long time.

There's no concrete reason why it was done so but the rumours say that it was due to the Royal Rumble following the Elimination Chamber match. Both Miz and Ambrose were involved in the main event matches which forced the creative to sideline the storyline around the IC title.

As of now, there are still some speculations saying that these two might get a mega match at the grandest stage of them all which will also involve Renee and Maryse.

It might happen after Wrestlemania season if WWE comes up with an even better idea. Whatever the planning is, the audience will love to see a proper culmination of this appreciated feud.
