Real Madrid ready for Champions League final: Mateo Kovacic

By Ians English

Milan, May 27: Real Madrid's Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic has said his side is "ready and united" to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Kovacic said on Thursday all his team-mates are "ready, focused and in good shape" after winning many games, reports Efe.

Real Madrid's Alvaro Arbeloa is thrown into the air by his teammates after playing his last match for the team after a Spanish La Liga soccer match between Real Madrid and Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, May 8, 2016.

The midfielder believes that Atletico is a tough team but Real Madrid is ready for the final.

The Croatian said he is excited because he will play his first Champions League final in Italy at the stadium of his former club Inter Milan, where he played for two and a half seasons.

Kovacic noted that he will also have another exceptional moment on Saturday, as he will play the Champions League final at 22 years old.

The Linz-born footballer, who joined Real Madrid in 2015 for six seasons, refused to comment on Spanish and Italian reports that he will be loaned any one of the top European clubs AC Milan, Sevilla or Tottenham.
