Ahead of the start of the fifth edition, here are some interesting statistics about PKL so far:

The league is gaining popularity with every passing season has garnered a lot of attention from the fans as well as sponsors.

Pro Kabaddi League 2017: Here are some interesting stats from all seasons

The local sport of Kabaddi has gained popularity in the country ever since the broadcasters kicked off the inaugural season. The admiration of the sport is breaking the barriers and setting new records in terms of viewership and sponsorship deals.

In a nation like India, where cricket was the only sport that used to draw attention, PKL has not only revolutionised the game of Kabaddi but also opened the gateways for several sporting leagues happening in the country.

They are getting the desired attention due to the quality of game and interesting matches played in the tournament.

So far PKL has held 4 seasons and it's popularity has only increased. People are familiar with several players participating in the league

With a total of 12 teams fighting it out for the top honours over the next 13 weeks, the upcoming league promises to be fresher and bigger.


Before start of the fifth edition, here are some interesting statistics from PKL:

Most successful player:

Telugu Titans' captain Rahul Chaudhari has secured most ,517 points, so far in PKL history. He's followed by U Mumba captain Anup Kumar with 411 points.


Most successful raider:

Rahul Chaudhari is the most successful raider in the history of the league with 482 points. Kashiling Adake is the second raider in this list with 380 points, which is less than 102 points.

With 385 points earned via successful raids, Rahul continues to be the most dominant raider. Veteran Anup Kumar is the second in the list with 307 points earned via successful raids.


Super Raids:

Kashiling Adake has conducted most 'super raids' in the PKL history with 16. He's followed by Ajay Thakur with 15 super raids.

Super raid is a raid when the raider gets 3 or plus points in one go.


Super 10s:

Rahul Chaudhari has got 10 or plus points in a match on 24 occasions. Anup Kumar has done it 11 times in the history of PKL so far.


Best Defenders:

With 189 tackle points, Manjeet Chhillar rules the chart as far as the best defenders in the history of the league are concerned. Mohit Chhillar 157 is second in the tally of successful defenders.


Super Tackles:

Defender Dharmaraj Cheralathan has earned most super tackle points (17) in the Pro Kabaddi League history. Mohit Chhillar is the second in this list with 13 super tackles.

Super tackle is a scenario when a raider is tackled or caught by either 3 or less defenders from the defending team.


High 5s:

It is a scenario when a defender gets five of more points in a game while defending. Manjeet Chhiller tops this list with 16 high fives. Mohit Chhillar has registered 15 high 5s in the PKL so far. Hence, there will be a tough competition between the two Chhillars to finish at the top, by the end of this season.

Team with total points earned: Two time PKL champions Patna Pirates are the team with most points secured. They have so far earned 2034 points followed by Telugu Titans (2016).


Team with total points conceded:

With 1925 points, Puneri Paltan have conceded most points in the tournament history followed by Patna Pirates (1910 points).


Most Do or Die Raids:

With 268 points, Puneri Paltan conducted most do or die raids in the tournament. Patna Pirates (249) are second on the list.


Most all-outs inflicted:

Telugu Titans have inflicted most all outs in the tournament. They have sent entire opposition team in the dugout on 86 occasions. With 83 all outs, U Mumba are second most dangerous team while defending.


Most all-outs conceded:

Dabang Delhi have conceded all-outs on 87 occasions in the tournament history. Puneri Paltan are second with 77. This proves the vulnerability of a team.


Most tackle points:

Patna Pirates are the most successful team when it comes to defending. They have garnered 659 points via tackles. U Mumba are second on this list with 643 points.
