New Delhi, Aug 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, Aug 17 congratulated ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal for winning a silver medal at the prestigious World Badminton Championships in Indonesia.
"A Silver at the World Badminton Championships is a momentous feat. Congratulations to @NSaina. Her accomplishments truly inspire," the Prime Minister tweeted.

World number two Saina lost to Spain's Carolina Marin in the finals yesterday to settle for the silver medal, which was the best performance by an Indian in the showpiece.

This was India's fifth medal at the World Championship after P V Sindhu clinched the bronze twice in 2013 and 2014 and Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa notched up a bronze in women's doubles at the 2011 edition.
Legendary shuttler Prakash Padukone was the first Indian to win a bronze at the 1983 edition.
