Malik, 23, became only the fourth Indian women to bag an Olympic medal after Karnam Malleswari in 2000 Sydney Olympics and Saina Nehwal and Mary Kom at London 2012 Olympics.

The Indian wrestler was 0-5 behind and in the dying seconds of the match she turned things into her favour as she won 8-5 finally.

As Sakshi wins the first medal at Rio Olympics 2016, here are some images of India's 'golden girl'.
