Bengaluru, Aug 1: The summer Olympics 2016 is set to kick-start its campaign from August 5 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

207 nations are participating this time at the Rio Olympics 2017. A total of 119 athletes are representing India in 15 sports.

Abhinav Bindra

Abhinav Bindra

Abhinav Bindra is the only Indian athlete to win an Olympics gold medal in an individual event. The 33-year-old shooter will be participating in the Olympics for the third time and will be looking forward to win a medal for the nation.

Deepika Kumari

Deepika Kumari

Deepika Kumari is an inspiration to a billion Indians. Daughter to an auto driver, the 22-year-old girl from Jharkhand will be competing at the Olympics for the second time in her career. In London 2012 she came 8th. Indians will genuinely hope she gives her best shot and bag a medal.

Dipa Karmakar

Dipa Karmakar

Dipa Karmakar became the first ever female gymnast from India to qualify for the Olympics as she has qualified for the women's artistic gymnastics event of 2016 Summer Olympics. She will be the first Indian gymnast to qualify for the Olympics after 52 years.

Sain Nehwal

Saina was one of the four Indians who had bagged bronze medal at the London Olympics 2012. One of India's greatest sportsperson ever, Saina was ranked number 1 in the world in 2015. Currently ranked fifth, Indians have a lot of hope of the girl from Hyderabad.

Sania Mirza is currently ranked 1 in the WTA women's doubles ranking. Sania will be participating for the third time in the Olympics in the mixed doubles category pairing up with Rohan Bopanna. We hope the duo bring a medal for India this time.
