FC Barcelona star Neymar Jr. has given his verdict on the probable winner of the Ballon d'Or this year. It is none other than Real Madrid's star player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo has bagged two major club titles this year, the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid and most recently the Euro 2016 with Portugal.
The Portuguese goal machine scored 51 goals in the entire season 10 more than his on-field rival Lionel Messi and 3 goals and 3 assists in the Euro. He was the second highest goal scorer in the La Liga behind Luis Suarez and also won the Bronze shoe in the Euro 2016.
Messi too had a chance of winning an international trophy but failed after Argentina lost to Chile in the Copa America Centenario 2016.
The 3 time Ballon d'Or winner is the front-runner this time to bag the prestigiou honour. Speaking about the Ballon d'Or probables, FC Barcelona attacker Neymar said: "Winning titles plays a big role in the race for the Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo won the Champions League and now Euro 2016 as well. So I reckon he is in a good position.
"Plus Ronaldo is a great player. I have no qualms in saying that."
Last time Lionel Messi had bagged the title beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar himself. It was Messi's fifth Ballon d'or title.
