Manchester United crush Manchester City 4-2 in English Premier League

Old Trafford, April 12: Manchester United crush City 4-2 and moved back to within a point of second-placed Arsenal in the English Premier League

Sergio Aguero tapped City into an early lead but the hosts leveled when Ashley Young converted from close range.

Marouane Fellaini's back-post header put the Reds into the lead before Juan Mata slid the ball home. Chris Smalling headed a fourth before Aguero's consolation for City, who have now lost six of their last eight games.

It was Manchester City who opened the scoring through Sergio Aguero in the 8th minute of the match. However, the Red Devils did well to make a comeback as they managed to score past Joe Hart on four occasions with goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling.

Aguero scored the second goal, but it was already too late for Manuel Pellegrini's side to get anything out of the match.

If the title race looks over, following Chelsea's win at QPR, the battle for second has become tense. United are a point behind second-placed Arsenal. Although City (61 points) now lie four points behind United (65 points), they have a more straightforward run-in, comprising games against West Ham, Villa, Spurs, QPR, Swansea and Southampton.

Manchester United are now third in the group table with eight points behind English Premier leader Chelsea who has 73 points.
