Kolkata, Oct 28: Baichung Bhutia, the former Indian skipper and ace striker is surprised to have watched a particular veteran footballer's consistency in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) so far. He is Mehrajuddin Wadoo.

The 33-year old defender has been representing Chennaiyin FC in the ISL for last couple of seasons.
Baichung said, "Even I have played against him. And now at the age of even 33 years he has been in amazing form. He is being placed as the wing back in Chennaiyin FC this season which is not his usual position. Still, in last couple of Chennai matches I observed how Mehraj was initiating for counter attacks as well as falling back to defend wonderfully. He is in amazing form."
The footballer from Kashmir who has represented senior Indian team several times as a central defender mostly, looked overwhelmed when informed, Bhutia has praised about his consistency.
He told over phone from Chennai, "Bhutia was once my mate on the field. And I am simply honoured by the applause made by such a great footballer like Bhaichung. This kind of appreciation always inspires to deliver better show in future."
Bhutia also praised Atletico de Kolkata's East Bengal defender Arnab Mondol who has been consistent with both the clubs as well as for country.
The chairman of national selection committee also added,"In the past, I observed that his first tackle was the final tackle. Now in an excellent improvement Arnab takes time before going for tackle. He has developed a lot of patience now. And I believe that ATK defense is still dependable mainly due to Arnab."
Bhutia also revealed that he was impressed by North east United's Ibor Khongji.
