Flag upside down video: India slips into another controversy in CWG 2014

Bangalore, July 24: Repeating history, India slipped into another controversy as the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2014 begins in Glasgow.

The video of the official song of the CWG 2014 shows a few volunteers carrying Indian flag which was shown upside down. The official song titled "Let the Games Begin" is also the Glasgow Children's 2014 anthem for Unicef.

The video features the flags of all the participating countries but the makers have blundered while showcasing the tricolour. The controversy came into notice when social networking sites have gone gaga over the video. Users on social media pointed out that the official video of the Games posted in June, showed the Indian flag being held up upside down.

The flag is displayed with the deep saffron at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom in equal proportion with the navy-blue wheel which represents the chakra in the centre of the white band.
