New Delhi, May 21: Star Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has regained the No. 1 spot in the latest women's singles world rankings released by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Thursday.
Saina pipped reigning Olympic champion Li Xuerui of China - who dropped to No. 2 - to take the top spot.
In March this year, Saina ended India's 35-year long wait for a No.1 player in the sport. Legendary Prakash Padukone had gained the men's singles No.1 ranking in 1980.
"It is still unbelievable. Let me pinch myself! It will probably sink in only when I see my name on the top of the ranking list," an overjoyed Saina had said after becoming world No. 1.
