New Delhi, July 20: Lilly Das, who clinched two back-to-back gold medals in the recently concluded senior Inter-State athletics meet in both 1500 and 800 meter in Guntur, has a habit that surprisingly matches cricketer Virender Sehwag!

Das also starts singing on the track just like the former Indian cricketer had a habit of singing in a whispering tone while batting, even against top bowlers.

Lilly, who returned from Guntur on Wednesday (July 20), said,"Actually I want to keep myself stress-free. Even I do not think about the result. That makes me more tensed and adds up to the pressure. In order to ease myself and get mentally relaxed, I sing in a murmuring voice. I even talk to my opponent athletes before the run starts!"

Lilly added further, “The victory in 1500 meter and in 800 meter in the Inter-state athlete meet was not so easy. I got a severe knee injury during the Federation Cup, a couple of months ago.

I was forced to sit idle, as I could not train due to injury. From there I have come back. Even in the inter-state athletics championship I was having pain in the knee. I was not being able to train even after reaching Guntur. I could run only because of my mental strength. So these trophies will always be special to me."

Along with this, Lilly Das who was the lone participant to have reached finals of 1500 meters in the recently held Asian Athletics championship in Bhubneswar was down by fever also during the inter-state athletics meet.

There was probability that Lilly would not be able to run. But the athlete, who trains at Kolkata's Sports Authority of India (SAI) athletics track, took part in the championship and clinched two gold medals.
