Free flights for Indian medal winners at Rio Olympics, Paralympics: AirAsia

Hyderabad, Sep 14: Low-cost carrier AirAsia on Wednesday (Sep 14) announced free flights for all Indian sport spersons who won medals at the Rio Olympics and Paralympics.

The gold medallists have been offered free flights for life while the silver and bronze medallists at the two sports events will be eligible for five and three years of free flights, respectively.

The Indian medallists who won gold, silver and bronze will be able to fly to any of the over 120 destinations within AirAsia and AirAsia X's extensive network in Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Africa, said AirAsia India CEO Amar Abrol at a news conference here.

Indian sports persons won a silver and bronze at the Rio Olympics held during August 5-21. Indian paralympians have so far bagged two golds, one silver and a bronze at the Rio Paralympics being held from September 7 to 18.
