Zlatan Ibrahimovic hails Brazilian Ronaldo as the best player ever

Bengaluru, Nov 13: Legendary Swedish footballer Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he considers Brazil's Luis Ronaldo as the best player ever.

It is no secret that Zlatan Ibrahimovic idolises the Brazilian maestro and once again he has expressed how Ronaldo inspired him to become a footballer.

Speaking to United Review, Zlatan said: "I think Ronaldo was phenomenal. He was the player that whatever he did it, it became wow!

"He could do a difficult thing and it became magic. You didn't have that kind of football player before and you don't have it today. He doesn't exist.

"As a young player, I watched him and said to myself 'I want to be exactly like that' - the player who makes the difference, the shining light, simple as that."

When asked about his favourite match of 'El Phenomenon', Zlatan said: "If I can choose one maybe the World Cup when France won against Brazil [in the 1998 final] because Ronaldo was playing."

"Obviously you want to watch and [Zinedine] Zidane was playing. These are the kind of players you want to watch."

Zlatan, 35, is currently plying his trade with English Premier League giants Manchester United. He joined the club this season.

The former Swedish international has had a topsy-turvy start to his campaign at Old Trafford.
