We changed history with style: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger

London, Sep 25: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hailed his boys for a brilliant show last night (September 24) against arch-rivals Chelsea as they ran riot against the Blues thrashing them 3-0.

It was a much needed win for Wenger's men who registered their first win against the Blues since 2011. Arsenal sealed the fate of the game within 40 minutes of the match. [Arsenal rout rivals Chelsea 3-0]

After the historic match, Arsene Wenger addressed the press and said: "I'm very happy. We needed to change the recent history, and we did it with style and steel. And that's what we wanted.

"We were committed with discipline. And that's not always easy to find a good balance in this kind of game. And overall I believe our collective rhythm was very good to give them problems."

Arsenal played brilliant football last night and displayed some exquisite passing. On his team's performance, Wenger added: "We want to play that kind of game based on movement and technical quality and pace.

"I hope that this kind of performance convinces the players that we are on the right way, but we still have some room for improvement."

Among all the joys, the winning team suffered a setback. Francis Coquelin had to leave the field in the second half after he suffered a knee injury.

On Coquelin's injury status, the manager said: "I hope not, but it's a knee problem at the same place he had last year. So I hope it's not as long as last year."
