Usain Bolt to train with Borussia Dortmund squad

Bengaluru, Nov 14: Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund has confirmed that Usain Bolt will join the squad soon and train with them.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has confirmed the news stating that the 9 Olympics gold medal winner will join them soon for training.

Speaking to German news website Kicker, the club CEO said: "It is not a joke that Bolt will train with us at some point.

"This decision was made a while ago. Puma chief Bjorn Gulden, who is also part of our board of directors, told me some time ago that Usain had asked him if he could train with us sometime.

"I immediately said that was not a problem and the coach [Thomas Tuchel] is okay with it as well.

"It will obviously not happen when we have two games in one week, but probably when things are a bit more quiet. The team will like it as well.

"We do not have to talk about us offering him a contract. But we feel flattered that he wants to train with us. It is an honour."

Bolt had earlier told Guardian that he is considering a move to football from Athletics and that he was in touch with a few clubs for training.

Usain Bolt is an ardent Manchester United fan when it comes to football and he has expressed his love for the Red Devils on several occasions.

The club had even presented him a jersey in 2012 at Old Trafford with number 9.63 written behind. The number signifies Bolt's world record timing at London Olympics 2012.

It is an exciting news for football fans across the globe, especially for Dortmund fans who would flock the training ground in number to have a glimpse of the maestro.
