The Gunners forward has been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium for most of the summer, with his contract due to expire in a year's time.

Sanchez played a vital part for Arsenal last term, showcasing the form of his life to contribute 30 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.

Paris Saint-Germain are right now leading the chase for the Chilean forward as per the French media who claim that Sanchez and his representatives were in Paris on Friday to meet with Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Antero Henrique.

Henrique and his assistant travelled to the United States with PSG last weekend but returned to Europe before the club's International Champions Cup opener against Roma in Detroit because of urgent transfer business.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has remained insistent throughout the summer that they would not cave and let him go now despite the risk of losing him for free next summer, with Wenger particularly keen not to lose the Chilean to a Premier League rival.

Speaking today after his side's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in Beijing, Wenger called the latest Sanchez rumours: 'Only media imagination.'

Asked if PSG had any advantage in the transfer, he added: 'No.'

Sanchez himself has strongly suggested he wants to leave north London this summer, having recently told reports in Chile how important it was for him to be playing in the Champions League.

'I want to play the Champions League. The decision does not depend on me, I have to wait for Arsenal,' he said.

'I've made my decision, now I wait for Arsenal's reply. The idea is to play and win the Champions League. I've dreamt about it since I was a kid.'
