And when World Cup 2002 is being discussed, Brazil and their star Ronaldo will automatically come up. From becoming the top scorer of the tournament to sport an ingenious hairstyle, Ronaldo did everything.

Who can forget Ronaldo's famous triangle shaped patch of hair just above the forehead? It was funny as well as iconic, only because of the great Brazilian.

After 15 years, Ronaldo has finally revealed the significance behind sporting such a weird hairstyle during the tournament.

Speaking ESPN Brazil, Ronaldo said: "My groin was hurting, I was only at 60%. So I shaved my head.
Everybody was only talking about my injury. When I arrived in training with this haircut everybody stopped talking about the injury."

Well, the gimmick proved to be a hit as fans still remember his fancy hairstyle.

Ronaldo scored 8 goals including 2 in the final against Germany to bag the Golden Boot award. His masterclass helped Brazil win their fifth FIFA World Cup which is still a record.

Ronaldo later player one more World Cup in 2006 and became the highest goal scorer in the history of the tournament until 2014, when Germany's Miroslav Klose broke his record.
