Renato Sanches set for a move to AC Milan

According to recent reports, the Rossoneri are set to land young Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich for £36 million.

Sanches has attracted interest from a host of European sides this summer including Manchester United and AC Milan but it is understood that Milan are leading the chase for the young Portuguese midfielder.

The Portugal international joined Bayern last summer for a fee of around £42 million but has failed to live up to his name under Carlo Ancelotti and the Italian is open to the idea of letting the youngster go.

According to French publication 'L'Equipe', Sanches is set to join Milan's revolution on a four-year contract.

The Italian giants are set to pay £35.7 million (€40 million) for the 19-year-old, who made his name as one of the hottest properties in world football last summer after helping Portugal win Euro 2016.

Despite not playing much football for Bayern last season, the 19-year-old finds his stock high and has openly stated his desire to move.

Milan have spent heavily this summer, bringing in the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Andre Silva, Andrea Conti, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio and Lucas Biglia, and now they are closing in on Sanches who could be a great addition to the club.

In the last few years, Milan have been quite poor while Juventus have enjoyed their monopoly in Italian football but things could definitely change the coming season given how desperate Milan are looking to improve their squad.
